Green Girl

And she manifests herself--
the cruelly beautiful;
the unfairly intelligent.
The world enfolds her:
"Come hither, my love,
for I will bestow
upon you my
great gifts."

And she loves the green girl--
tired-eyed, muted,
and utterly green.
The green girl.
Who stands in the corner.
Screams. Pouts.
But says nothing;
for although green
she will not be a burden.

And the beautiful
carries her beautiful smile
over the threshold.
Joined forever in a
beautiful union.

But the green girl
doesn't understand these
beautiful things.
She drops her smile
and it shatters.

And they love eachother.

But broken smiles turn you green
because they won't understand beauty.
And that seemingly cruel beauty turns tragic
because it can't understand brokeness.

hmmm.... I'm not so sure about this one. What do you guys think?
