The prof for which i have a huge paper due today(that is unfinished despite me staying up most of the night and feeling much sicker for the sake of trying) can't get on campus today because he slipped on the ice because the "gods took revenge on him for not extending the deadline," as he says. This means i can basically get it in any time today.

How did this happen?

This kind of thing never happens.
