Today at work it was a long day - a very long day. I worked from 9:30-7 and i felt like a zombie all day. I started to lose depth perception and balance at one point. I saw two people with downs syndrome hugging and kissing. It was really kind of cute. I also got to wander through the greenhouses and look at all the tropical stuff. Also of interest, walking near the exhibit was a marine, or a soldier of some sort, that was extremely attractive. And at one point he had to walk past me, and where i was was rather crowded, so he was just within a few feet of me. And there was this point where i was looking at him(he had very pretty eyes) and i looked away and he looked at me, then i looked at him as he looked away, then i looked away while he looked at me and then i just caught his eye for a moment. He was very attractive. Although I do have to say, one thing that disturbs me about this job is the amount of attractive fathers. Often they aren't that old, but it just feel really weird to see a man and think he is very attractive when he is holding a 2 year old by the hand.
I feel like i really want to write poetry, but nothing seems to come. I don't feel it. There is so much i want to put into poetry, but i am not inspired. I think i'm still frustrated about him. But then why can't i spin it into words? There's nothing i can do about it right now, aside from write him a message on facebook(which i did, and to which he responded but once again regarding the class that is now over). I've been pretty good about being ok with being single lately, especially with the holiday coming(just because i really want someone to like me doesn't mean i'm not ok where i am now). But i think a little bit of the lonely holiday blues are getting me. Just a tinge of it - i'm still fine, really. But it's just once in a while, when i am out walking past Christmas lights and snow covered rooftops, or when i lie awake at night at stare at the ceiling; it's those times when i want someone to have their arms around me - or at least have someone who wishes they did. But in general i'm pretty ok. I'm used to being single. I'm used to being alone through the holidays, never having a reason to bother with miseltoe, never kissing anyone on New Years Eve. I think you sometimes just become accustomed to things when they keep that way for so long. And more than anything, if i feel lonely, it's not because i don't have somebody, but rather because i do not have a particular somebody.
By the way, i'm looking for someone(or two people) who want to go to a concert with the Alternate Routes and Sister Hazel on the 29th. The person i was going with can't make it. Let me know if you are interested.
