This is getting very interesting. I'm really looking forward to see where you're taking the plot.

Strangely, I feel more for poor Gene, having to tackle the problems of Manchester without his insane DI, than for Sam. I'm twisted, I know.

I'm glad Gene is giving Sam some perspective; as 'safe' as it is to belong to Warren, it is an ephermal and costly safety that will ruin him eventually. I don't think Sam is the kind to let Gene's words go, and perhaps this might push him into going against Warren, because he knows he is doomed anyway. Which isn't exactly hopeful, is it

What I love about canon Gene and Sam is that they could always balance each other out or make the other see a different POV, even if they were reluctant about it, and I wanted to try and keep that relationship here

Did you know I started out as a Pre-Med/Biology major because I really wanted to be a doctor then quit because I couldn't hack it? So I'm really jealous of you.

This is a peice of p1ss - I mean most of medicine is basically common sense!
Surgery is really plumbing , ortho surgeons are notoriously thick. Anaesthesia is really only the real medicine!
(other doctors think we are the geeks of medicine!)

The fact that Sam was the one to take the initiative with Warren at the end really says how deep in it he is. We know Sam would never do any of this if he had any other option at all.
I'm very curious as to who poses a treat to him, causing him to seek Warren's protection. I mean, given half the chance, I'm sure he'd rather make his money through some sort of decent work. He must be desperate to do this.

*squees as Gene wanting Sam* They just need to get to know one another, so they realize how strong their love is. *still imagines the star-crossed lovers scenario*
