“Mr. Hunt.  Could I see you in my office, please?”  Denslow’s voice was soft but firm as he said it, and Gene looked up at him, giving him a stern, appraising look as he did so.  After a few minutes’ silence, Gene eventually nodded, and then turned to Annie.

“Cartwright, you look after him.  No leaving the room.  And take ( Read more... )

Thanks! Hee, I'm not sure if the length is a good or a bad thing, as I have major trouble with most short-fics. That's one of the reasons I still haven't posted the rest of my "five things" memes; I've gotten about three done for each, but then I start a new one and it just goes on and on and on... Hopefully, I'll be able to turn out some decent short fics, soon, and get those five things all done and up :)

Thanks very much for commenting, and I'm glad that you're enjoying the story enough to print off and read at work :)

Sorry about that; I posted it just after I got off of work last night, and I didn't even think about the time differences... Thanks for commenting, and I hope you enjoy :)

Oh my god, Sam's going to end up at Ray's house. Brilliant stuff, can't hang around here though *runs to part 25b*

Heheheheh, I'm glad you're enjoying, but don't worry, Sam won't end up at Ray's... I think Ray just has the usual dingy little flat that a copper could afford in his day and time...

I don't know why, but I keep seeing Doctor Who references in here... Weird. The arches, the W/M and the Storm. I might just be a tad obsessive about my favourite show but the oncoming Storm had me giggle a little nervously; also, the 'dark' Sam reminds me something fierce of the Master.

I think my obsessive little mind is keeping me from grasping your plot, which I'm usually really good at (plots, that is, being a roleplayer).

I must admit I am horribly intrigued and confused as hell, and I don't think I'll get the picture before the end of the last chapter, when I'll probably go: "Wait, what? Ohhhh...*gets it... kinda*"

Then again, I felt the same way with the series, so well done on hitting the tone of the show! *grins*

(by the way, if you start including tapping noises, drums or any other kind of percussion, I'm gonna flip!)

Sammy needs a proper Doctor! *nods*

Hee - there are definitely quite a few Who references in this, straight down to WPC Sarah Sutton... But don't worry, it's not a crossover, and there are no drumming sounds...

Thanks very much for reading and commenting, and I'm glad that you liked the story! I'm also glad that the plot's keeping you intrigued - I used to LARP quite a bit a few years back, and that's definitely helped me to develop my plotting ability for fic :)

I'm kinda annoyed at Gene for letting Sam out of his sight again so soon. :P

And I honestly do not know from what part of Scarborough's rant they picked up that Williams is not the killer.

I wince every time Glen, who really should know better, says something homophobic. But it's canon and you were right to include it here, especially because of the impact it has on Chris.

So...if Williams in 1973 is a goody, what's the double doing in Sam's dreams? If Williams is good, I'd really like Tyler and Williams to meet actually in 1973, where Gene could see what was going on and the three of them could piece it together, bring Morgan down. Oh, IDK. So confused right now. :P Fact that I'm still reading means I don't mind that you've lost me, though. :)
