Another chapter! This is becoming an addiction! Fab job again. The section that stood out for me was Ray ruminating over his choices.

Ray folded up the application and set it on the top shelf of his locker. What was he supposed to do? Apply for the post, follow the Guv’s orders, stay loyal to Gene? Throw out the application, side with Chris and Annie, do what he thought would be better, and possibly lose one of the most important friendships of his life?

He was damned every way he looked.

Wow... Merrick is definitely far scarier than you'd originally led us to believe, isn't he? And Gene's far closer to having Sam... *shudders, refuses to even type it, and then has horrible Cuckoo's Nest visions* Wow...

This is incredibly, and very suspenseful - I love the dynamics of Ray, Chris, and Annie working together, and the way that Ray sits and considers his choices. The similarities between Ray's situation and Gene's are incredibly well placed, and just make each man's situation seem that much more hopeless...

Can't wait for more!

Just take deep breaths and consume a lot of fluff or crack!fic in between. That should help. ;)
