Sam flashed Annie a smile. That smile that convinced her every time he really was human. It happened so rarely nowadays.

I just love that line. And, well, seeing that smile in your mind's eye doesn't hurt either.

Thank you! I do have a soft spot for that smile (and I'm sure others could say the same.) It makes it easy to describe when everyone else already knows what it looks like, ;)

Great tension, where Sam was waiting for Gene to say something, and Gene clearly hoping that Sam would just...fix it somehow. :) Thank you for posting so quick! :D
