What the heck?!? I'll be here when the show comes back next year. Next year! *sob*

But for now, first thoughts on op 8
behind the cut

What the hell just happened?!? I was rooting for him to wake, even though it meant the end of the show, which goes a long way to proof what a strong character Sam is.

So what? His body was ready but his mind wasn't? ( Read more... )

I'm one of the people who are the perfect candidate for watching these things- I can't pick things up and at the end I'm like "Really?! I never knew that!"

So I was quite- "Wow, so he's the bad guy, huh?" So, am I right in thinking that Gene was right? He's one bloke pretending to be two. Sneaky bugger.

I think like so many have said- it's not that he'ss not strong enough to leave, he doesn't want to. That makes all the difference.

Star Wars ref! Love a good Star Wars ref.

Ooh. Like right now he's so stricken by the truth that he can't face the real world. Knowing he's the son of a criminal! And yeah, agreed with Gene's theorie.

yes, it's totally that he doesn't want to leave, I'm convinced of that now. Maybe cos he can't cope with going back to ordinary life knowing that everything he believed about his dad was bollocks? (Apart from the obvious reason of being totally in love with Gene/Annie/Chris/Rolling over cars shouting 'oi!'/delete as appropriate)

And I confess that while I suspected Vic knew more than he was telling, I didn't twig he was the Big Bad till Annie kicked him!

Like he said, "I can't win". He thought he'd win if he could get Vic to stay; but he couldn't do that, because it turned out the only change he could make to the timeline would make things worse for Ruth and Sam. So he can't win, there's no trapdoor, or none that he's willing to take, and he's stuck with the status quo.

Oh dear god. I'm stunned. How can I live without this show? That was perfection. I loved it. 'May the force be with you' - too funny. Vic was obviously doing a Kayser Soze but that was great because OMG angst with Sam still trying so hard to believe. And he nearly woke up but couldn't quite make it - 'there's no way I can win' ::cries:: And Gene, in the Great Gun-Pointing Scene was practically *vibrating* with fear that Sam was going to leave ::OMG loves my boys:: And Sam really letting rip into him and 'You say that like it's bad thing' *SNERK* And Sam finally, finally, getting the better of him in a fight even if Gene did totally let him win. And Chris noticing Ray's aftershave! Chris/Ray is SO canon. And Gene ribbing Sam about giving his mum one OMG so wrong but so funny. And the end, with the angsty/sweet scene with Annie - 'I don't hate everything about being here' ::loves Sam/Annie:: but then it's Gene he goes to, it has to be Gene in the end.

::takes a deep breath::

::cries::

Gene's perfect reaction to Sam pulling the gun - 'That was an odd thing to do.' *yays*

It was, wasn't it? In any world where Gene wasn't desperately in love with Sam, he'd have been nicked himself for assaulting a superior officer at the very least :-)

Gene could totally have overpowered him if he'd wanted to. He just didn't cos Sam was so upset XD

There have to be consequences, you're right.

And also, surely we're going to have to have some reference to the fact that A division are covering up the fact that their DI is clearly one sandwich short of a picnic...Eeeeevil Superintendant is bound to use it as leverage over Gene at some point...

That Superintendent reminded me of the Emperor in Star Wars.

Tape? What tape?

*shudders*

I think you may have just doomed him to be known as Superintendant Palpatine for all eternity :)
