Can I have a little Brit-pick? Just a teensy one, but I'm pretty sure that Annie would ask to be called Detective Constable or DC (possibly WDC), not just Detective.

Sorry about that; I figured that since they sometimes refer to Sam as just "inspector" and Ray as "sergeant" that a DC could be referred to as just "detective;" my bad, I'll make sure that it stays out of future parts, and thanks very much for the info, I appreciate it :)

I actually can't stop reading now, at all. I'm well and truly hooked!

It's reassuring reading this again, knowing that Sam's at least going to live for a while longer yet, lol. I can remember how scared I was when he kept getting worse and I thought you might actually kill him.
