John Simm's New Project: BBC America's (!!) "INTRUDERS"

John Simm cast as the lead in BBC America's Intruders

Summary from the site:

"Simm stars as Jack Whelan, a Los Angeles cop turned writer who has escaped a dark, violent past for a seemingly quiet life with his wife, Amy. When Amy goes missing, Jack is plunged into an investigation that forces him to confront the sins of his past and reexamine the very foundations he's built his life upon."

Simm's comment: "After reading Glen Morgan's brilliant script, I knew I couldn't pass up the chance to play this complex character. It is also a great opportunity to reunite with Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner, and with BBC AMERICA."

Okay, so my first reaction was, "Oh shit." Because... idk. America. Disappointment? Because Simm always seemed against going to America? And also, he declined to do LoM series 3 on the basis of having to spend time away from his family, and now he suddenly goes over the pond to do a whole series? :I

But anyway, as I said, that was a first reaction. If he likes the script, I suppose it's gonna be brilliant. Plus, he's worked with the producers before, and IIRC one of them did Life on Mars? And it's a BBC production still, sooooo I guess that means we're not losing him entirely to the states. And I suppose, since it's an American series, it'll have more than just 3-6ish eps, which means a LOT more Simm goodness at once. Yay.

The only thing I'm REALLY scared of.........................

American. Accent.

I hope he can pull that one off without it being cringe-worthy.

And that's it, fandom-reporter Little Cello over and out!
