Title: Give it a day.
Rating: Green Cortina(Just for the subject matter?)
Word Count/Length: 565
Notes: This is self-edited mostly and yeah just exploring what might of went on after Sam was on the roof. Hope it’s not that bad or too out of character. Also big thanks for aisforinterval. for helping me gain the courage to do this.
Summary: Gene wasn't stupid, he saw this new Tyler wasn't well but no way in hell was this a problem. Tyler just needed a day or so to get over himself

----------------------
Ray was bruting somewhere, Chris was at his desk reading an old issue of some porn magazine and Tyler was somewhere. Somewhere with his shoulders tight and arms crossed. Gene looked down at desk and huffed. Sam’s smug words were still on his mind, he chose to throw out the note and let that animal rot in jail. Yet he rattled and hissed, still acting like he ran the place. That somewhere in the smoke of CID was ‘his office’ with ‘his desk’ and ‘his chair’. Hyde did really breed arrogant little bunnies, what he expected from Hyde really. The door to his office cracked open and that Cartwright girl’s head appeared with a large frown and eyes glued to his dirty aged floor.

“What?” He said tone harsh because, while Sam seemed to fancy she was still a WPD and that meant she did not go into his office unannounced.

“It’s about Sam…” She trailed off and hyper focused on the floor, his first thought was Tyler’s interest was really a ruse to get Cartwright into his pants. His next and less dramatic  was Sam was mad about Ray. He had a feeling that would be common, too common. “He tried to jump off the roof.” She stopped looking at the floor and finally looked at Gene  as she finished explaining herself.

“….What?” It took Gene a while to process that meant something serious, he wasn't versed well into this sort of stuff. Men sometimes did off themselves, he knew that too well but it was a certain animal in his gut and even hearing about this near disaster woke it up.

“Sam…was on the roof and tried to jump.” She finally looked at and the clear worry in her eyes meant she almost stopped from stepping off the edge. “He’s in a coma and has to get home.” Gene chuckled a bit, defending himself from the animal by laughing it off. Sam was an already joke one that got results (this time)

“DCI Hunt are you going to do anything?” Annie asked wondering this was a good idea or not. She had the power to do anything with this matter but she didn't know if she could just put Sam through that. He was honestly readjusting to something.

“Look is 'e threatening to shoot people or himself?” She shook her head saying he wasn't. “Then I way I see it. He can pretend to be in a coma or an alien till he gets all this nervous energy out of 'im ” Annie kept on nodding, too currently meek to speak up and lay down the law of psychology 101.

“He seems delusional …he has these notes.” Gene reasoned that Sam had notes about everything, and turned away from Cartwright not because he was angry but because deep down he didn't want it to be true. None of it.

“Cartwright give it a day or two. Tyler looks like a good cop, a pain in the ass but we need more Tylers in this city” Annie understood his denial…slightly; she went back to the door.  Letting Gene deal with his inner animal that still was wake even after he clung to this denying lie.
Tyler would be fine; he would get over it, a week at maximum.
Somehow even with the denial however he knew he was wrong.
