Ok seriously, when I arrived at the last sentence I was like "adsfgdsafhjghgsdf NOOOOOO ;_____;", and then the epilogue set it all right again for me. <3
Wow! I have to say (and you probably know that xD) that I'm not keen on smut and slash and such, but even so I think you wrote those scenes brilliantly. So much angst! Lovely~! Thank you for writing this fic~
I was debating whether to add an epilogue, so I decided to put it as an optional extra. I could've just killed them off, but obviously I'm just too nice. <3
Haha, thank you!! :D (And I am writing some non-smut fluff to deal with this, lol.) Thank you for reading :)
Oh my god, I love it XD The atmosphere is fantastic, and you can really feel how hopeless and miserable they both feel. Poor Gene especially - it's so hard to imagine what would force him from Manchester (other than Sam dying/leaving of course :P), so instantly you know how bad it must've been.
The little flashbacks as well - that mention of Chris and Ray, and then nothing more about them afterwards - It's so sad! And the one where Gene's all bruised and almost got killed! I want to know what happeneddddd XD
And I love the way you never really find out what happened, even though I'm DYING to know!!!! XD. The way they never speak about it and we only ever hear whatever/whoever caused as this as 'them' and the mysterious toxic clouds. Part of me wants SO BADLY to know what happened and where the clouds came from, but it's so much scarier when it's a mystery like this.
And Geeeene and the little girl and the curly wurlies and aaaagh <3333 And that LAST
( ... )
Thank you!! :D I'm really, really glad you liked it. (Gene being bruised was 1.06, with Reg Cole- the bit about 'two o'clock' was supposed to symbolise that, so sorry for not making that clear enough :L)
Just thank you so much for your awesome comment! <3
Wow! In the end it doesn't really matter what disaster happened; the story is about grief, an pain, and love, and getting on with it. You do all that brilliantly; their individual agonies magnified by each other, and then their struggle to get through that...
The final twists and turns are SO in line with the spirit of the show. Glad that there's a hint of happy ending!
Ouch, this hurts. This really hurts. It's so sad... But that's a good thing, of course. You can feel Sam's hurting, and also Gene's rage... Such a tragic setting, and what an ending! *cries*
I'm glad you decided to put that little epilogue there... otherwise it would almost be unbearable...
It wasn't intended to be painful, so have some aspirin on me... and haha, the epilogue didn't exist until I read it through for the last time and thought, "I'm not THAT evil."
Thanks hugely for your comments- they are muchly appreciated.
Ahhhhh wow. Wow. (<-says wow a lot) That was so incredible and intense, and the end made me choke and go noooooo but then there was that nice little epilogue and it balanced things nicely for me. That was also a heady amount of angst right there, it was, but it was so nicely written that it ended up being, I guess, some sort of good thing? Indeed. Anyhow I really enjoyed this and I love how you wrote Sam and Gene in it andddd it was just amazing, it was.
Great thing about being new myself is that, well, pretty much everything I can read or look at might be old but it's all new to me, so I can't help myself *grins* and you're welcome!
