What, the curtains? chamekke December 9 2011, 09:11:56 UTC
"Mum! I can't wear this!"

"Stop fidgeting, lad, or I'll stick you with a pin. -Ah, that's more like."

"Evening jackets are supposed to be elegant, mum. Not flocked. I look like I'm wearing a bloody sofa..."

"Language! What the Lord Mayor doesn't know won't hurt him. It worked for Maria von Trapp and it'll work for you. Now stop fussing."

"The other men have off-the-rack..."

"Well, they don't have mothers who love their sons, then. -All right, you can look now."

"Ah, God..."

"-And if you keep moaning, it'll be more than curtains for YOU, sonny-jim!"

Aw, poor Litton! Life is hard.

It worked for Maria von Trapp and it'll work for you.
LOL!

Guess I miss it more than I thought... dorsetgirl December 9 2011, 12:34:53 UTC
For basaltgrrl who unknowingly inspired this.

.
Sam stops at last, held by the sound of the sea. Slowly, softly, gently, washing the smallest stones, he sits to watch it barely seem to move, its might re-wrapped in summer sun, grey-green, calm and still.

Salt bubbles nibble and lick the sandy edge of Sam’s new shoes; he stands, and waits as pillow-soft waves encase clean leather, then steps away, uncertain. “We’re here,” it seems to say, “for you. Be whole, your soul will heal.” He smiles.

Sam moves backwards up the beach, reluctant yet to go, then as sky and sea turn silver-black he quietly walks away.

“Flight or invisibility, boss?”

Sam didn’t look up from his paperwork. “Invisibility. I’m busy, Chris.”

“Gonna wank to Cartwright without her noticing?” Ray interrupted.

“No, that’s why you chose invisibility.”

“But the guv chose flight,” Chris said, undeterred. “How can you fight crime together if you can’t fly?”

“In this extremely hypothetical situation? Gene’ll carry me.”

“That’s not very aerodynamic.”

“You could ride him,” Annie offered. They stared. “Like a horse.”

Chris beamed. “That’s what the guv suggested! It’s perfect!”

Sam started to protest before he sighed and closed the file. “At least I’m on top.”

“That’s the spirit, boss.”

“You could ride him,” Annie offered. They stared. “Like a horse.”

I'm just getting ready to go to bed. I wonder who I'll be dreaming about tonight ... ;-)

He, thanks :D That's the great thing about that icon. For Tony/Steve, my OTP of my OTPs? It's totally canon. No dreaming for us, just...a lot of laughter at the artistic decisions Marvel made during the 60s.

Good God! How have you packed this much perfect layering into 100 words? I love clueless!Chris, scheming!Annie, and, of course, scheming!Gene: “That’s what the guv suggested! It’s perfect!” ♥ And Sam's "At least I'm on top" I don't even have words for.

Hot and hilarious.
