When I decided to call it "Imagine" I just picked it because of the Lennon reference, but then started to think that (here's the angsty backstory!) this could be Gene imagining Sam who is actually gone - so Gene is happy for a moment imagining naked Sam clinging to him.

I thought, "Mmmmm, gorgeous portraiture, lovely use of lines, naked adorableness," and then I scrolled down, hit this comment, and started wibbling too hard to be coherent about artwork, artistic and lovely as it is.

It gave me quite the internal wibble when I thought of it, let me tell you. Completely changed the way I look at it.

Sam is many things in Gene's head (as, I suppose, Gene is in Sam's head. Oh god, talk about wibbly wobbly timey whimey!)

I ended up being pretty happy with Gene, too - he's always harder for me. I've drawn Sam's profile enough now that I'm confident I can *get* it, but Gene... especially with a particular expression... ugh.
