RadioLab is an hour-long NPR show that discusses a different scientific phenomenon or question each episode. I was listening to an episode this morning on the idea of the self -- how do we recognize ourselves in the mirror, where in the brain does our sense of ourselves as individual entities lie, etc. One of the stories they went into was about a woman who had an aneurism, spent several months in a coma, and woke up as someone else. The thing that made me freak out though, was that when she was asked what was going on while she was in the coma, she responded...
...that she hadn't been there in the hospital bed -- she had been an old man in Vietnam who farmed vegetables.
