I find this pretty profoundly awesome. The way they converse about it, lead up to what really turns Sam on in that moment, is so beautifully done. The dialogue is so REAL, so awkward and indirect and great. And all the essence of Sam feeling weird about asking Annie to do this for him, but she's happily giving it... nice.

This is one of those stories that is absolutely *not* everyone's thing, but Sam's deep and varied levels of self-knowledge and yearning have this potential in them. As for Annie, I think those crazy kids can make it work, one way or another, but mostly because I believe she's perfectly capable of telling him what's what.
