I know this is a bit random, but I’ve just read Archraven1234’s fic, which mentions Gordon Ramsay, and I remembered a conversation I had with a friend of mine a while back.

Oh god no. Gene's insensitive. But Gordon Ramsay's an outright bully. The man flips if a gravy turns lumpy.

In defense of Gordon Ramsay, I think anyone that watches Gordon's BBC shows versus his US aired shows will notice a difference in his attitude. He also has a very loyal crew that he's kept around for years, so either they make enough money that they don't care, or he's a decent guy. Of course, I was raised by a chef, so maybe I'm used to the behavior...

Anyway, I do see similarities, but I like both the man and the character.

Both are alpha males with a highly agressive attitude masking their intelligence and sensitivity. I don't think Gene has Ramsay's vanity but either way, its a would.

I think this about sums it up, although I would add as has been mentioned by DG and Mondolin that both men also inspire strong loyalty in those they work with, even if "outsiders" can't really understand why. So personally I would say they are more alike than not.
