Good news about Spanish LOM

Feb 23, 2009 12:06

Good news, my dear friends. "La chica de ayer" (Spanish version of LOM) is supposed to start in two weeks, though the date can change, specially with our wonderful tv system. It will probably air on thursday, so you could probably see it the weekend (we will see how we do it, don't worry). Also, I wanted you to know that I just learn how to record the show and extract the subtitles, so, we (me, and at least lynx_moon and x_rose_tyler_x) will translate the show for you! Yay!

And a bit of information as well:
  • "La chica de ayer" means "The girl from yesterday". It's a famous Spanish song, and it refers to Sam's mother and Annie, because they're supposed to help him, and being important in his life in 1977.
  • They use "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the car accident scene because "La chica de ayer" wasn't composed until 1978. Yeah, it makes lot of sense, I know... But at least they chose this amazing song.
  • The show is set on 1977. In 1973 Spain was still a dictature, and the police was a represive force of the government. On the other hand, in 1977 Spain was in the middle of the political transition, the women liberation, the police reform, etc. It is a very interesting time, and it has been treated less in our tv shows.
  • The names of the Spanish characters are: Samuel Santos (Sam), Ana Valverde (Annie), Joaquín Gallardo, called "Quin" (this is WEIRD, they totally invented that short name, because it sounds like "Gene"); Cristóbal (Chris) and Raymundo (Ray).
  • The first season will have 8 episodes.

And I think that's all right now. We'll keep you informed. :P

PD: Can we have tags for this?
