Celebrate Christmas in 1973 style!
Well here it is that time of year again. Time for Christmas parties and Christmas cheer. So here's a little something to help celebrate Christmas in 1973 style.
Some 2 years ago, long before I'd ever heard of Life on Mars, I was lucky to get hold of a December 1973 UK edition of House & Garden magazine. Amongst all the avant-garde furniture, much of which would look good today in an Ikea catalogue, there's also a Wine & Food supplement with Christmas recipes and drinks. So I thought it would be fun to share them here (with modly permission) with the lovely LoM fans so you can all party like it's Christmas 1973!
I have no idea how many of the wines listed are still available today, for instance Mumm Champagne, so this might also be considered a useful list of wines available in 1973 for purposes of fic writing. Also includes a list of wine merchants.
Be warned: These recipes are distinctly fattening and the drinks guaranteed to make you merry and I will not be responsible for the consequences. ;)
