This was the big 'hug Sam' moment for me here: anonymous November 12 2008, 23:16:05 UTC
>“I know how...to give a statement. It’s a lot harder when parts of your...brain won’t work, alright?”

*hugs Sam*

I'm glad to say that he seems relatively 'with it' here, despite the meds. I mean, compared to some previous scenes...

Very nice chapter, esp. the scene in the Lost & Found.

Thank you!

Sam will be a little more with it in the future. At least some of the time. Well, he hopes so.

I am so seriously not liking Annie at the moment.

Yeah, I totally understand that. Hopefully she'll work through her issues quickly.

Thank you!

I know Annie's trying to do what she thinks is right at the moment, but she's seriously starting to piss me off. It just feels like she knows she might have made a mistake, but instead of admitting to that, she's sticking to it, even if it hurts Sam in the process.
I do love Ray standing up for Sam, though.

Ditto Culf here -- I think Annie's stubborn streak is coming out. She does, actually, have a damn good point, because with a serious mental illness this scenario would be very dangerous. However I think you've done a great job of showing the failure of the treatment so far, which Annie could not miss, as well as showing Annie's down doubts. It's easy for me to be really pissed off at Annie, but just as with Ray, I'm finding myself sympathetic to her as well. Given her background and education, she would totally buy into the hype of the treatment, and being human, she would not want to think that she made a terrible mistake that quite possibly ruined Sam's mind. She's got a hard road ahead of her, with this whole situation ( ... )

All you said? That's what I'm trying to get at with Annie here. So, yay!

Ray's soul is very manly and incredibly butch. *nods sagely*

Thank you!

Good. Well, not good for Annie, but good because that's how I want you to feel. Ray will stand up for Sam if it means being able to disagree with someone else. :)

Thank you!

“Right. You’re dressed. Phyllis said she’d look after you so we don’t have to keep you in cells. Don’t you dare cross that woman.”

“Wouldn’t,” Sam shook his head. “Too scared of her.”

I loved that bit about Phyllis. Lol!

It was so great to see Sam up and about and as close to lucid as he's gotten so far. But, interesting tidbit about Hynes, that Sam's hasn't heard of him. The drugs or somebody else? Hmmm...

And you did Ray justice in this one, even though he made it clear to Carter that Sam wasn't his mate, at least he knows that the 'treatments' are doing Sam more harm than good.

Nice update!

Thank you!

Ray may not like Sam, but I don't think he wants to see him as beat up and tortured as he has been.

29 chapters already? I saw that number and thought I had missed something. Another fabulous job. And I still haven't forgotten about cataloguing the poor man's injuries!

I can't believe this fic is this long already. I thought it would end at around 50,000 words. That is clearly not going to happen.

Thank you!
