No Ray - it can't make him worse - now do the decent thing - not easy for you I know - and TAKE SAM TYLER AWAY FROM THE HORRIBLE ASYLUM!

kthnxbye :)

ps- “You better not be talking ‘bout me knackers,” Ray warned. LMAO!

The man does have a thing for rooftops, doesn't he?

“Ray...” Sam’s face finally turned and, though it was difficult to see, Ray knew Sam was looking right at him. “I can help you find him. If...if I can keep, keep my head clear, I can help you.”

“We have to take you back where you belong, Tyler.”

“But not right away. Please. Let me help. Let me be useful. And, once we find Gene, you can toss me back. I don’t care. Just, let me be useful one more time.”

It's that pleading voice again. Gets me every time

Sam and rooftops are like peanut butter and jelly, I think. :)

Thank you!

What really makes this scene work so bloody well is the way Ray keeps using Chris as his alibi for giving a toss about Sam - you can definitely tell that Ray is regaining his empathy for Sam's situation (and talk about haunting: “No, he...I don’t think he thinks that’ll work.”), but he's clearly still too angry to let himself trust Sam again, so that indecisiveness is probably the best we can hope for. For now, anyway *gives Ray a kick for good measure*

Really moving and fascinating stuff as usual, thank you!

Well, of course Ray doesn't care about Sam. Chris is the one that cares about Sam. Not Ray. Never Ray. Nope. Not in a million years...

Thank you!

It really is fascinating seeing this from Ray's perspective as it emphasises just how utterly crazy Sam's situation is because there is no way to make anyone else understand. And all the different layers that you are showing in Ray make him more real and sympathetic all the time.

I was worried that Sam didn't sound crazy enough because of course we know all about what happened to him, so it makes sense to us. I had to try and forget we know what Sam knows. When I reread his dialogue like that, I realized how crazy the truth really does sound.

Thank you!

Wow! This had me wanting to scream at Ray to take Sam with them. You've really done a great job grabbing the reader (well, this reader definitely). I love Chris in this too - very cute. But Sam, so well written and so vulnerable.

Thank you!

It's a very hard decision for Ray to make. Here's hoping he makes the right one. ;)
