The new US LoM preview
I didn't post last night because I was waiting for tinadoll to share her thoughts, but I'm going to go ahead now.
So, last night we went to the Paley Center to see the season premieres of a few of their shows. They showed an extended commercial for LoM with the new cast.
Jason O'Mara's hair has grown slightly and the extra length has turned curly. This concludes my observations on O'Mara.
Harvey Keitel--lots of him punching Sam. They seem to be doing a word for word adaptation of the script again, and in the commercial they showed him manhandling Sam until just before the 'hoops' line, so I was left wondering what a NYC 1973 cop would be having for dinner. Mucho shots of Harvey looking at Sam like he's a dope. "Do you have a warrant?" "Here's my warrant." (Kicks door in.) You know, the usual. So, it seems like he's made Gene tough but with a sense of humor. No sign of the caring side of Gene in these clips, but we didn't get much of that in the first UK ep, either.
Gretchen--to me, she actually sounded like Annie (aside from the accent), but she has that gentleness of voice. The clip with her was one of the 'You think I'm not real, but I am' conversations in which O'Mara was touching her boob (over the uniform) and she told him that if she was made up, she'd let him keep on touching, but she wasn't, so he should move his hand. And he was shamed. I think. I couldn't tell, what with his lack of facial expression.
Oh, and the getting run over scene is pretty much the same.
So, that's it. I guess it's on in October.
