Request for writing advice
I am such a neophyte to this writing thing, and since it was this fine community that inspired me to get started, hope you might have some advice for me. See, I started working on my ficathon story last month intending it to be a little piece similar to what I have posted so far, and not likely more than 1500 words. But the damn thing has gone and demanded a plot, which is requiring me to at least triple the number of scenes. As I am about to leave for two weeks vacation with little computer time available, I am afraid of not having the time to finish it properly. Especially as it is the first piece I have ever written with any plot at all.
So my question to all of you is, should I plug away at this and get it in the best shape I can by the deadline and then just post it, or should I try and start another piece that will fit more within the size and type I had originally envisioned which should be finishable for me in 7 to 10 days?
Any advice is appreciated.
