A Question About 2.01
The tune that Tony Crane whistles during that episode's 2006 Sam-torturing flashbacks and in his office in '73 always sounded a bit familiar, but I didn't realize until catching up on the CBC's weekly pittance of Coronation Street episodes (yeah, I know...) and hearing a character on that show singing a snippet of the same tune that the song actually has lyrics (yeah, I know...) and that it isn't just a random tune from childhood music lessons or something.
So, I'm wondering if any of the more intelligent, well-informed folks around here can identify the song, since I seem to be going ahead with this stupid Sam/Tony Crane bunny after all (despite the recently-mounting reservations about writing in the first place, gah) and would like to know the context of that song and if it's something I can reference in my fic.
And on a related note... does anyone know of any Sam/Tony Crane that's already been written? I read a whacking backlog of fic when I first joined this comm, but can't recall ever seeing that pairing before, but if someone's gone there before I'd really like to see what they did with it.
