Wow!
A rollercoaster of an episode!
Laughing at the Ray/Chris bit , worrying about the Shell of Sam/Nelson bit to the hopeful!Sam bit at the end.
I love it when you toy with my emotions!

I love the banter between Chris and Ray at the beginning, and also the conversation Sam has with Nelson. It all rings so very true of their characters, you've managed to capture them perfectly through mostly dialogue alone, which is very clever.

And yay! that Sam is at least trying to remember, trying to find himself. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to be that easy for him...

another brilliant section. I particularly loved the Chris/Ray and Sam/Nelson interactions and the scene with Gene in Sam's old room. can't wait until the next bit!

Thank you! I do love Chris and Ray, but unfortunately neglect them sometimes in fic.

I'll join in the chorus for the Ray/Chris and Sam/Nelson exchanges. This bit sounded very Nelson:

Nelson leaned on the bar, tossing the bar towel over his shoulder. “There’s a difference between making your own choices and doing everything on your own.” His Jamaican accent was gone, and Sam wondered how that happened, and when. “You can have people help you on your path, if you know which path to take.”

Thank you! I find Nelson very hard to write, harder than TCG, so I'm really happy you think it sounded like him.
