I hated Morgan in the show and I still hate him in this - you just know he's not up any good D: I would bet that he's working for Warren and keeping an eye on things, the slimy bugger!

I've truly been enjoying this and a smile comes to my face whenever I see an update posted ♥

And boo hiss to Morgan. Even the way you described his physical appearance makes me sure he is up to no good. And this He was clinically analyzing him. It was cold, distant, almost inhuman by Gene’s standards, because if Gene had suddenly found one of his missing officers alive and semi-well after being missing for several months, the last thing he would ever be was cold. was a wonderful way of showing the differences between Gene and Morgan and Morgan's calculating nature.

Don’t think it takes a degree in criminal justice to out-police this lot - love sentences like this as it shows Sam's true nature sneaing through despite all his self doubt.

As always loved this and thank you for posting so regularly. I do need my fix after all.

“I liked you better when you were cryin’,”
Everyone likes Sam better when he's crying!
I like to see Sam slowly regaining himself, though Morgan is a bastard. His DI was missing for two months, and he never even cared much!
I like Gene thinking about how much more he'd have cared if one of his team went missing, because you know he would!

I know I like Sam better when he's crying. :) (And that's why I added Morgan to the mix.)

Gene would totally care because he's awesome like that, as we know.

Yay! for another part! Yay! for no angst monkeys either!

I'm always pleased to see another instalment appear on my friends list. Although shorter than other parts, this was still full of pertinent detail. Thank you!

Great contrast between Gene and Morgan. Gene was concerned for Sam before he became part of the team (and I mean true concern) whereas Morgan shows no true emotion at all. And the return of snarky!Sam.
“Don’t think it takes a degree in criminal justice to out-police this lot.”

“That’s my team you’re talkin’ about there, Tyler.”

“Thought you said it was my team.”

“I liked you better when you were cryin’,” Gene grumbled as he finally pushed open the doors, his presence immediately halting the game. He heard Sam padding along behind. Right, then, it was time to see what this boy could do.

I love snarky!Sam. Even Warren wasn't able to beat that out of him. :)
