Fanime : An Cafe
So this past weekend was Fanime, and what a Fanime is was, and I didn't even do anything in relation to Anime. My weekend was spent on doing An Cafe related things. Concert, Autograph Session, and Q&A Panel. Not to mention the lines for all of the above things.
DAY 1 (We will be starting with Friday.)
I wake my lazy ass up at 6.00 am. I quickly gather a few things and run over to my fathers house and snag his Jeep and off to Fanime I go. I get to Fanime around 7.45~ I park and head straight for the Pre-Reg line. Someone please tell me why it was already outside, it was a good 200 people.. So I figure I'm fucked for getting in line for a An Cafe autograph ticket. (Which I was, at that point.) :FASTFORWARD: I get my badge and such, leave Fanime aquire all my other stuff and then head back, and meet up with people.
I aquire my concert ticket during the second release session, but no autograph session ticket. :sad face:
DAY 2
So I headed home to sleep between Friday and Saturday got 6 hours or so and I'm ready for a new day. =] I wander around and what not just enjoying the con. Buy massive amounts of An Cafe stuff.
Around 5 pm or so I decide fuck it, I have nothing better to do I'm gonna go camp for Autograph Session tickets. Mind you, these tickets won't be released until 9 am the next morning. As I walk up to line there are 2 girls already sitting there. I start talking to them and we get along right off the bat :woot: Little do I know at this point, they know Pandy and I will be spending the rest of my weekend becoming really good friends with them, Bailey and Phen.
We didn't really know this going in, but this was one of Fanime's most un-organized years ever. So, due to that fact, I stepped up to the plate. I kept our like organized and became the cafekko ambassador. We had a long night ahead of us, and I wanted us as a whole to have as much fun and as little stress as possible. I knew one thing going in tho, Fanime Staff doesn't let you sleep in the hallways, which is exactly where we were at. Thus, our long night began.
:FASTFORWARD:
DAY 3
Morning finally arrives and at 5 am we are allowd to form and official line. So I made a list of the people in line, up to number 33. This was to keep ourselves self-governed, and self-organized. Nu cutting bxtches. So as 9 am approaches the butterflies in our stomach wake up, and begin fluttering about. At this point, what we had been told by staff is there there should be 30 tickets released. That information, to my knowledge came from Julia, a head staff member, but on the contrarty only 10 were going to be given out. Here begins angry cafekko. So a staff member walks over to us to try and explain, and everyone starts yelling. I walk us become ambassador. I talk to the staff member telling him that we were told by upper staffers there were to be 30 tickets released. He's really unsure what to do, so he calls Tony, a division head (MusicFest Division.) When Tony arrives, I explain the situation to him, and the fear in his eye's was kinda funny. He had 30+ angry ass cafekko standing in front of him ready to strike. I show him our list and he says, "Ok, the 33 people on this list will be getting Autograph Session Tickets." Here, there cheering and love begins. We have our tickets.
From there we had our plan to meet up and such, we all run off to our various sleeping places and crashed for a few hours. (It was necessary after waiting 18 hours in line.) Sleeping insues, we get about 3 hours or so and then go straight to the concert line. We wait there for another 5 hours. :smiles:
We meet more friendly people in line and complain about the stupid FanGirls at the back of the line who just keep screaming and yelling obnoxiously.. :gun / bang / bang:
So finally 7 pm hits and it takes a little while to get us inside but as soon as we are in the game is on. We "don't run" to the front where they have foolish placed this platform-esque thing infront of the rail, making the mass amount of tall people even taller.. Oh Fanime..
We dealt with it.
We pushed Phen and Pandy as far forward as possible, Phen made it to the rail for amount of time here and there. The issue at hand now, was how horrible difficult the crowd was being.. It really sucked (crowd wise.) Tons of first-timers, parents in the pit, and people who just had 'tudes. So Pandy was almost murdered, by a parent of all people. I kept getting shoved back off the platform somehow.. (I still don't understand where the people were coming from and how I kept getting moved.) Finally I saw a spot open, but people were blocking it so I dropped to the floor scooted forward and popped up in the spot. Everyone was liek, O____O;;! "How da frack you get der bezzy!?"
Magic. Nyappy Magic. :rofl:
So now I'm behind the father with his two daughters, one of which is plugging her ears and apparently giving Bailie dirty looks. WTF?! Your dead center of pit and you placed yourselves there, don't like it get the fuck out. So about a song later the move the fuck out but one daughter stays. At that exact moment I dive for it, Bailie blocks some people for me and I shove my way into their old space. I'm now behind Pandy who is right behind Phen. And my view was AMAZING! I just kept staring at Miku. :drool:
They finish their set. As soon as they are off stage I join the instant "AN-KO-RE" (Encore) screams. We are stomping and clapping and screaming it! Some silly Fan-Girls (the ones I wanna shoot.) are scream An-Cafe for some reason.. What-ev, we drowned them out. Then the boys pour back onto stage! WE SCREAM EVEN LOUDER!
"Sankyu foru encore. I want see you happy. I want see you mo smile!"
Smile Ichiban ii Onna, what else!? I am ecstatic, this is one of my favourite songs! They sing and he tells us that this is the last song. We all understand. Then he goes on to say,
"I promise I will be back."
We figure he'll be bringing the rest of the band with him.
It was amazing, and I couldn't speak or hear. Frack I could barely breath. =D
DAY 4
Autograph Session
So after I sleep in one of my friends rooms, I meet up with the group and we wait in another line for the autograph session. We are at almost the front of the line. We wait for a while then they let us up in small groups.
We're in the second group.
Teruki, was first. I hand him my booklet and he looks at me looks down and opens to his page and signs, shakes my hand and say "ありがとう。” I say "ありがとう" back and move along.
Next is Yuuki. I open to the page for him and hand my booklet to him. He signs smiles and shakes my hand. He's so silly, his picture is fairly dark and he signed with a black sharpie.
Then it's Miku. I think the shock hit because when I went to go hand him the booklet I kinda dropped it on the table and my hand were shaking and such, he was just, "Nyappy?!" I nod. He signs. Shakes my hand and says "Sankyu yuu." I barely get out "Thank-" and my voice cuts out..
Takuya is after him. I gain a small amount of my confidence back and then he signs says "Thank you." I thank him back and shake his hand.
Then we have Kanon, the sleepy head. He takes my booklet flips thru it looking for his picture, totally lagger. God, He's such a nerd. He grabs the sharpie and signs and hands it to me, mumbles "ありがとう。” Then he shakes my hand.
I thought I was gonna die... Dude.. OGM! I spasm. These guys really care about their fans, they made each moment with us special.
Q&A Session
We were between the first 15 and 30 peoples. We waited for a few hours, until 2. I believe Pandy said I passed out for a period of time, holding my headphones to my ear listening to An Cafe. Then finally they begin letting us in, we are in the front row! A little to the left of them, because for some reason Fanime staff has a major issue with balancing things, and even spacing and such. ~____~; Makes and OCD person stress, which I really did..
So as we're sitting there someone walks up to the dude instructing us on protocol and somehow, another thing staff didn't know. (Miscommunication ensued again.) We are actually allowed to take pictures, just no flash. OH SHIZ FUCK! We all whip out our various camera's that we had hiding in various places. The clicking of the camera's begins.
The Q&A was fracking hilarious. They are really funny, and really playful. xD
They were making sooo many jokes. Phen actually recorded the first 16 minutes or so.
Takuya was a tid bit serious until he used animals to explain the other members.
Teruki and Miku were totally making side jokes/ talk the whole time.
Miku was a total dork, but the most adorable one I've ever seen.
Kanon was basically asleep the whole time, he had Yuuki putting the mic infront of him when it was time to talk. :rofl:
Yuuki was seeming a tad nervous, but later during the Q&A we found out it was his first one. Q&S Virgin! XD (Yuuki at one point called it a "Q&S.")
Their introductions went as such:
"I am Takuya."
"I am Teruki, on duramu"
"I am Miku, on bocars."
"I am Kanon. ...I like sleeping."
"I am Yuuki, on keyboardo."
It was brilliant.
Made me smile.
Made me happy.
It was NYAPPY!
