Okay, first off, it was a signing and Discussion thing. I did not know that and was only more happier...... and Jemma more peeved. heheheehehe.
Let's see, things I learned during the discussion:
- The book contract have gone up to 9, from the original planned 6. But the series is still open ended.
- The next book, "A Few Demons More", is coming out in March. It will be hardcover.
- Kim is a big Clint Eastwood and Spaghetti Westerns film fan.
- There may be a prequel in the works, she is interested in doing it.
- There may also be a few more short stories from different people, like Rachel's brother, Robbie.
- "The bed is for sleep. Mostly."
- We met Kim's infamous Guy-In-The-Leather-Jacket (boyfriend?/fiance?/husband?)
- Kim's "disagreeable" when she gets writer's block *Guy-In_the-Leather-Jacket holds up bandaged arm and points to kim, nodding and smirking*
- The tomatoes came from the B-Movie "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
- Kim has a degree in Biology and took the bare minimum of English classes in college.
- Her editor came up with The Turn idea.
- Kim researches things for 5-10 minutes. "After that, I make things up."
- Kim will never kill of her three main characters. but....... "There's death, and then there's DEATH."
- Burning Bunnies of Hell Brigade (BBHB) lapel pin.
- I got applause for having driven 3 hours and being there on my birthday. Kim said "I've got something special for you then."
- Kim gave her permission for us to name the next horse baby, Takata. She wants pictures.
- Jemma, you're famous. Kim mentioned the movie comment you posted.
- "She must be a very good friend." This was repeated to me many times as Kim signed your book, Jemma. She emphasized the "very good" (yeah, I know, I didn't say girlfriend, I choked and was too stunned by the fact she was making a conversation with me, not just a "thanks for coming", but a real conversation with me, but she remembered me from the comments page, so she knows how "good" a friend you are)
- Kim getting a wowed look on her face when I said where you lived Jemma. I mentioned Stonehange and Glastonbury Abbey.
- "Everyone will be very jealous that she's getting an advanced copy of this book. It doesn't come out until October over there."
- "Here, give her this. Kim personally handmade this. Make sure you give it to her, okay? No keeping it for yourself." Kim's Guy-In-The-Leather-Jacket, handing me a *shhhhhhhhh, it's a secret* to send to Jemma. I, for one, can't believe she gave it to me.
So..... excited Jemma? You're getting a ton of stuff from Kim, including, but not limited to:
- a signed book
- temporary tattoos
- a charm token
- a Burning Bunnies From Hell Brigade lapel pin (a Kim Harrison original drawing)
- and a *dammit woman, I ain't telling you, you'll find out when you get your package, and yes, it is really something. and NO! don't go asking Kim what it is!*
