Brief Update

It's been a little while since I did the whole "what's going on with me" deal on here... and I have to admit I've been much better with keeping up on the MySpace blogs than in my little corner of LJ world.  But considering most of the peeps on my list here are completely different from those on the 15 year old mecca of the intraweb, I figured it was time for a little sharing.

Things are going well!  Six Dead Queens is shaping up to be totally awesome.  My cast is superb, Nicole did a fantastic job on the poster, Mistletoe Masquerade went off without a hitch!  I really can't ask for much more than that... well, I could... but that would be ever so slightly greedy and the gods and muses are being good to me recently!

I was completely overwhelmed by the news I've had over the past few weeks.  BroadwayWorld.com has posted their Best of Baltimore Theatre articles for 2007 and I was included in three of them!

This first one is "Movers and Shakers: 46 Artists of the 2007 Baltimore Theatre."  I got named to the "Up and Comers" list.

The second is "Best of Baltimore Theatre 2007: Community Theatre."  I was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for the role of Helen in "Fat Pig."

And the Third was for the ensemble of Fat Pig as Best Community Comedy (although it wasn't so much funny haha for me :P) in Readers Choice.

I'm really looking forward to Six Dead Queens and my Birthday - The show opens on my birthday :P  2/15!  Mark your calendars, kids!  Opening night is also MDRF night at the show.  Employees and patrons of the festival can get $10 tickets via a special link (email me for it!) on Acteva.  And if you come in costume like the rest of us geeks - $1 off all drinks at the bar!  Yay!

I've also recently started rehearsals for "Polish Joke" at Spotlighters.  Great cast and directed by John Sadowsky (for you rennies, he's the German guy hehe).  I'm excited to be working with my buddy Fred again and am really feeling a connection with my other cast members.  I'll be playing 6 roles including an Irish Airline stewardess (a stretch, I know!), a needy girlfriend (this actually IS a stretch!), a florist in a whacko dream sequence, an old Polish lady et al.  Should be interesting!  I'll post more details as I know what's going down!  But we open in the end of May.  I'm insane.  Totally overextended, but I love it!

Watched Order of the Phoenix last night.  Still not really warming up to it.  Not sure what it is, but it just doesn't have the same feel as the other Potter films for me.  I've also recently become addicted to Project Runway.  Is it just me, or seriously, is it a prerequisite that the uglier the clothes are, the more likely the designer is to win?  I mean, granted, I wish I could pull of some of that stuff, but really - wow.. some of it is just... whoa.  Maybe I'm just a redneck from Baltimore - but the guy from season one with the earphones?  WTF!  Hehe.

Ok. Bed time for me.  Hope everyone is well!  Hope to see you on opening night of 6DQ!  Stay well!
