i don't know, i don't share your optimism for snape.. although i do agree that dumbledore's supposed "reason" for trusting him could not have been the real one, i feel like something else must have happened. but i am really unhappy with how little sirius' death was dealt with in this book.. it seems like if it weren't for tonks, it never would have been mentioned, which makes no sense to me.
and i hated the typical/macho ending with harry and ginny "i care for you to much to be with you, we must be apart for your own protection, blah blah blah". not a fan of that.
but it's pretty obvious the entire purpose of this book was just to set up for the final one, which is okay. i still enjoyed it.
i think i still have some hope for snape because of how much bellatrix distrusts him, how much dumbledore trusts him, and just how weird the whole ending was in general. there has to be a whole lot more to it.
yeah i thought for sure sirius would somehow exist..especially since the whole thing in book 5 with the mirror that he gave harry and how jk said it would be important in the last two books. also, the thing with tonks and lupin..kind of ridiculous (and the same with harry suddenly being in love with ginny..where the hell did that come from??)
the ending..definitely way too spiderman. i thought it was too obvious that the book was setting stuff up...so much of it was just straight out explanation. i really don't see how she is going to do the last one without doing the same, unless it's like 2000 pages.
I could deal with 2k pages, no complaining from me, I'm going to hate seeing the series end. Especially if it's only 600 pages or so
But yea, Dumbledore hasn't really made a mistake the whole series, although that bit in the begginging about him saying his mistakes would turn out to be worse than others, so that's kinda unstettling, but I'm sure he had an amazing reason for trusting snape. I'm holding to the idea that having snape attack him was planned, cause when they were flying back he didn't want madam pomfrey, he wanted snape.
It just looks like it was some sort of plan, also, when Harry was chasing snape, snape didn't hurt him at all, he almost looked like he was still teaching him to use silent curses
yes, it did seem like he was giving him advice in a way. and at that point, if he really wanted to, he could have just immobilized harry and taken him back to voldemort or something.
