sending emails to former professors can be difficult because you have to first trick yourself into believing that they want to hear from you, and that they still care about something they asked you over 2 months ago. there is also a curious art to being insecure without offending or highly aggrivating those around you.

becca is here and today we went into the city. i like to think that if i lived closer, id be there all the time, but im sure i wouldnt really. we aimlessly wandered around the village for a bit and then went and saw chicago. it was good, but not one of my favorites. my dad is going to get tickets for spamalot soon i think, and i also really want to see the pillowman. jeff goldblum kind of freaks me out but it seems like it would be interesting. tomorrow will be wander around port jeff and eat at tigerlily day. maybe also make nerdy, yet hopefully ambiguous, hp-ish shirts.

if you can't tell by my more-inane-than-usual sentences, i am quite exhausted. though, i still have a little while to go before i am exhausted enough to not care about the fact that my bedroom is a bug haven. last night i was sitting in bed, just about to go to sleep, but then a spider darted across so i had to sleep downstairs. there are dead bugs just laying on my carpet too. it's absolutely disgusting. i understand that its summer and there are bugs, but this seems to be a bit out of control.

time to:
- grow up
- send my typed-up email
- go to sleep

edit: i sent my email, and there is a worm crawling on my left slipper. GUH.
