1. I have this bag of coins, sans pennies, on my bookshelf that I let collect throughout most of highschool.
2. I really want a corset, dammit.
I counted up my coins the other night and I have $180 in spare change. Said change is now my corset fund. I don't know what type to get though...guuh. I finally decided on an underbust for my first one, but now I'm torn between your standard victorian and a more edwardian one.
I guess this would be your most popular style, currently on ebay for $140. This is what I originally wanted, and in an overbust actually.
I think this is the one I want now though:
$180. Sits a little lower on the hips, higher at the back, and doesn't go straight across on top. And I would get some sort of brockade...not that hideous pink vinyl or whatever it is. When you don't have the money to spend anyway, I guess an extra $40 doesn't really make much of a difference. This is literally all of the money I have, and all of the money I will have until I start working at school again..unless I can sell some junk on ebay which still wouldn't bring in that much.
Sidenote, this is the most amazing corset I've ever seen:
$325. One day I will be able to afford it. I can graduate to a high-end elizabethan later on.
I also entertained the thought of making my own, but I think I would get far too frustrated and end up exploding. I'd probably also have a really hard time tracking down all the supplies I'd need, decent fabric, and I'd need some sort of grommet-puncher.
