Squee!
I freakin' love graphic design! Not straight graphics - but type setting and book design are so much fun. InDesign and Quark are my favorites ever - (okay, not Quark as much, InDesign is so much cooler). I cannot get it to post on here, since the closest thing I can get it to is a pdf, but I made an amazing flyer for mom's homeschool band thing with full graphic layers in less than 40 minutes. I was so excited.
Granted - I have less than no time now. We're in pre-production for both the textbook and the academic journal I'm working on - they need to be in to publishers in the next couple weeks. Since no one else knew what they were doing, and not because I'm especially awesome, they put me in charge of all graphic and typesetting design elements for Criterion (the journal). And copyfitting for both publications takes a long time. Actually, everything is taking a heck of a lot of time - but I have passcodes to stay in the labs way after hours now. And I love it - so much more fun than straight editing. So awesome. I am really hoping to get internships working with this this summer.
