The feeding of the Underworld, however it was effected, had become disjointed

Apparently as time went on, the feeding of the Underworld, however it was effected, had become disjointed. Mother Necessity, who had been staved off for a few thousand years, came back again, and she began below.

H.G. Wells - The Time Machine.

Friday 2012.05.08

Snooze again did not work on my alarms so woke a up thirty minutes late instead of the desired ten. Managed to get a lunch packed my face and teeth clean before hopping on the bike and getting to work.

And alright sort of day, nothing special.

However I did forgetting mention a trip to cheese shop yesterday where I picked up a very nice ripe goats cheese which its name escapes me, a very stinky swiss cheese called Appenburg and Cheshire and a Mrs Bingnam blue. The goats cheese is my favorite a very soft edible ash coated cheese, the ash adds an earthiness to what is a very smooth cheese with a slight tangy bite at the end.

Spent the evening helping with finishing the tea which was pea and ham soup with bruschetta. After that sat back and relaxed watching midsummer murders, eating pineapple upside down cake with custard.

Saturday 2012.06.09

Day was just like any other, I brought some long skinny fit shorts. Will look good with my magnum boots. Well rivet punk!

Got the offer of going to see Prometheus with Kat, Davy, Jordan and Louis. They were going for Kats bday, they went to see in 3D that messes with my brain so I didn't not go.

Instead I stayed in and Bob and I chatted late in to the night with cigarettes and cider.

Sunday 2012.06.10

Ran late again, too little sleep. Work was fine and fast home too, dinner was ready when I got in and soon consumed.

Then Mum and I went to a free gig in Stony Stratford, it was called One World Club. Lots of different types of music to listen too, traditional African folk, negro spiritual, blues, jazz and reggae. Was really great especially it being free. Met some interesting people as well as old friend of Mums named Pat. She's an artist and musician. Looked after Bob and I when we were younger.

Monday 2012.06.11

Woke up late in the morning and it was raining heavily so I thought that I would wait until later to walk the dog. Made a fancy breakfast of boiled asparagus wrapped in parmaham. Very good it was too.

Then I got on to doing the important things like reading and listening to music. Also sorting out my dad's fathers day bits. Think he will enjoy.

I then made a wicked soup from the depths of my brain. A sort of mix of several recipes but a quite original soup. Here is the recipe.

Petes' Spicy potato and peanut butter soup.

Ingredients:

4 large potatoes
1 large red onion
4 large cloves of garlic
2 table spoons of soy sauce
4 table spoons of pea nut butter
Maggi seasoning sauce (approximately 2 table spoons)
2 tea heaped tea spoons Chilli flakes
3 tea spoons of cumin
1 tea spoons of cayenne pepper
2 tea spoons of Marjoram
50 grams of butter
Fresh parsley
4 Brazil nuts
Cream/creme fraiche/coconut milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Melt half the butter on a low heat in a deep pan. Dice the potatoes in to cm cubes and add to the pan and fry lightly until soft. No need to peel the spuds intact fact there's more flavour if you leave the skins on.

Add these to a deep sauce pan or rice/slow cooker. This is where your soup will come together.

Take the rest of the butter and melt. Slice the onion up however you like then crush the garlic and add to the pan. Soften these but don't let them color too much. Add to your soup pot.

Now all the hard work is done! Add the rest of ingredients to the pan. (excluding the Brazil nuts and parsley and cream-like ingredient that you have chosen)

Pour in eneough boiling water to cover the potatoes and other ingredients and stir everything up. Set to simmer on a medium heat.

Once the potatoes are soft, usually about ten minutes depending on how large your diced potato was, add the cream-like ingredient. It's up to you which of these you use depending on how you want to adjust the flavor. The coconut milk adds a delicious sweetness to the dish.

Once stirred through either hand blend the soup smooth or put in a food processor. Poor the result in bowls chop the parsley finely and crush the Brazil nuts sprinkle on the top. Eat it with a crusty roll.

Mum had been out in the cold all morning and this was a great body warmer. Comforting with the smooth soup with just that little bit of spicy heat to defrost frozen brain cells. Completely vegetarian also.

The rest of the day I worked on some music playing around with vocal editing. Adding reverb to different frequencies of the vocals to add depth. It's quite fun to hear the layers just expand when you get the compression and frequencies separated enough. Just blows the track open.

Read a few more chapters of The Time Machine by HG Wells, it's so beautifully written in love with Wells all over again.

Tuesday 2012.06.12

Woke up early and for the first time in a good week or so didn't feel like a disturbed hedgehog being poked three months early to come out of hibernation.

So I got up, walked dog, made packed lunches, made coffee for Mum and I, listening to the radio, checked email, emptied tumble dryer and had a piece of cake all before going to work. Feeling damn fine this morning it must be said.

After the day finished trains home curled up up in a corner and read.

Home and a lamb carrot and pearl barley stew was ready for me to eat. Soon after I did another track of vocals and tried pushing my voice harder still. It's getting better. Then I played with the mixing for a bit.

Then it was time to finally re-pot my manic courgettes, however this meant cleaning out the shed a bit to get to the larger pots. So I got very dusty and dirty cleaning and sorting.

Found some decent pots and compost, needed more soil so I dog over some of the garden the bits Mum can't get to. Weeded it and de-slugged it. Reported the courgettes and they now look a bit over whelmed in their big pots.

Went up to bed room and read some Wells while listening to my last.fm recommends. It's not got it all that good the scrobling feature is not so great I feel. Mostly recommended me classical music and lots of noise where as I have been mainly listening to electronic stuff, like Grimes , I Break Horses and Esben and the Witch.

Played about a bit with this analogue modular synth java script Web based synth. It alright but not like the real thing.

Up and dog walking early again. It feels so much better to start the day out with the little pup. The little things have been getting away from me again and that means the big things have been pushing in to my brain and making me grumpy.

So worked tried to find and new bag for commuting and failed.

Home and Bob had created a brilliant little invention. Sea bass in breadcrumb but the breadcrumb contained parmasan, black and green olives. Then this was pan fried in butter.

Went up to my room and started some reading but after a chapter or two my eyes hurt and so I decided to rest them. Next thing I know it's three AM and I have been woken by the dog snuffleing about.

Thursday 2012.06.14

Walk of hound, trying to get back in to this now as I have realised that I was being a bit mean to the hound.

Hopped on the bike/trains/bike and then I was at work. With a drink of coffee in my system I was ready. Picked up a new bag, it not ideal but I literally could not wait the old one I have had for nearly six months and I have worn the fabric away. I was going to get some form of hiking type/make bag but they were all quite pants. The ones I fad found in the shops were anyway.

This evening I was determined not to fall asleep and waste my evening. So after eating and watching some Futurama I went to my room. Booted up the laptop and sat on my chair instead of the sofa bed. This was a conscious decision to not be too comfortable and drift off. I went through a ton of music blog and listened to some new artists and wishlisted a few of them as they were quite pleasant.

Friday 2012.06.15

New video editing software finally arrived to work nearly nine days in the post that I paid three quid for you zavvi will get bad feed back. The bank holiday does not triple delivery times!

Another day another dollar. Sort of getting worked up about moving now, it's exciting but scary. The waiting is the hardest part.

Home to Bob and dog no Mum she was off to a weekend away doing her craft thing. Bob and I made a huge bowl full of different vegetables and cous cous.

Installed my video software and made this.

Another week done, good new that I have my house but no news on a move date yet. Looking forward to being back in Northampton. The days are very long with the two hours of commute either end. Need to get back in to some sort of exercise regime when I get back. I feel terribly out of shape as I have done literally no yoga in all the months I have been back in Milton Keynes! Good week ahead hopefully we shall see.
