So I had a lovely weekend with my Londonian friends, minus the fact that I sounded like a 15 year old boy going through puberty for most of it!

Thursday I picked them all up from Termini, which was all a fluke because we had no way to get a hold of each other and I didn't really know what time they were coming in.  Luckily Shannon and I were wandering around trying to find her a bus pass and I heard Ben call my name and there they were!!  It was my lovely roomie Liz, her flatmates Matt and Leslie, and Ben from K!  After we left Termini we wandered through the Baths of Diocletian where they got to see their first real sights of Rome.  Then we got there stuff to my hosue and chiled for a f before we headed out to see the Pantheon, Church of Il Gesu, and Churhc of Sant Ignatius.  They were all awesome to see!  For dinner we went to the infamous Pizza Place as we like to call it here in Rome where we were harrassed in a good way by the cooks and waiters and they took pictures of us with the cooks and we made dough for pizza and I got to make some very yummy bread with jus tolive oil and rosemary on it! I even got to put it in the oven, which was fun!  Liz was the luckiest of all of us because she got a phone numbe ron her hand and  apizza made for her in the shape of a heart! It was so cute! Then later that night we went to get Gellato and went to see the Vittorio Emanuele Monument and the top of the Capitoline Hill.

Friday morning we woke up early and they went to see the Colosseum while I went to turn in a paper then we wandered over to St. Peters where the line was too long to climb the dome and the museums were closed so we went through the Bassilica and looked at everything!  We then wandered home and Ben made an awesome dinner! After that we headed down to the Trevi Fountain and when we got there there was no water in the Trevi! It is kinda hard to show people what things in Rome look like when they don't work.  We were all a little disappointed in this but wandered over to the Spanish Steps to try and make up for it! The city was dead for some reason that night so Kent and I felt bad about taknig them around, but we figured Saturday night would be better and we would try again!

Saturday morning I stayed and slept to try and get rid of my cold and my 15 year old boy voice and the Londonians went to the Vatican Museums and climbed the Dome! We met up after and ate some nutella sandwiches and looked through a big tent with lots of different types of vendors which was really awesome.  Then we went to the Forums where I felt like a tour guide/teacher telling them everything I knew!  Then we came out of the Forum and saw a line of Police officers and they were all holding their raid gear, protective gloves and battering sticks so they could beat people and their big plastic shields so we were intrigued and stayed around to find out what was going on!  About a half hour later we heard all this loud music and say this parade of sorts coming down the road.  We are still not sur ewhat kind of protest these people were making but it looked to be anti war or they were fighting for the legalization of pot (it did smell pretty good there), but I guess we will never know! After that we went home and Meghan joined us to go to dinner in Trestevere where we ate at a very cool restaurant that was so delicious!  Next we got more gellato and came home to watch a movie where we all proceeded to pass out!

Sunday mornnig we woke up to go to mass at Saint Peters in hopes of seeing the pope.  Because of rain mass was held inside and the pope was not there, so Matt and I stayted for mass and the other three went to wander around for a little while!  When mass got out we went to stand in the circle outside Saint Peters to watch for the Pope to come to his window!  We watched him and listened to him for about a half an  hour before he went back inside! It was raelly cool!!  Then we went to a few different stores and had some lunch and one last does of Italian gellato before I took them back to Termini! It was sad to see them go but I knew I needed to get some sleep and it didn't help at all when some little punk kid tried to open my backpack to steal out of it while I was wearing it at Termini! So I just turned around and smacked him. . .then I saw the creapiest guy that has ever stared at me on the tram again and that scared the carp out of me so I quickly was nervous waiting for the bus and luckily it came about 10 minutes later!  I got home and made some dinner, using the amazing Ranch dressing my roomie had brought me from London, did my Italian homework, and read a little before falling asleep at 11!  I slept for a good 13 hours and just woke up about a half hour ago and I still sound the same and feel just as sick so hopefully a few more nights of sleep will get this to go away!  Anyone want to bring me some chicken noodle soup?

Alrighty well I have talked long enough I am going to go eat something and get ready for class :-P but I will talk to you all soon!! Miss you tons!!!

Ciao!
