A Morning of Firsts!

So we visited the Domus Aurea this morning for my Imperial Roman Art and Architecture class and boy was it exciting! (I hope you can all sense the sarcasm) We payed 5 euro to go into the remians of Nero's Golden Palace which no longer has any gold, basically none of the brilliant paintings (so-called by Raphael himself) are still there there are just some oddly shaped rooms with moldy walls and scafolding with men working on the only cool room in the place.  Plus there was this sneaking suspicion that my British professor would squeal a little too high on some of her syllables causing the ceiling to cave in! I had visions of my tomb stone with the words ". . .and I paid 5 euro for this" on it!  It didn't help that after 3 of the rainiest days in Rome thus far our Prof told us that a couple yaers ago they had some problems with the ceiling almost caving in after haevy rains!! Thanks Prof!!  But there was a highlight to the morning! I was super nervous about a quiz we were going to be taking and so after the Domus Aurea we wandered over to San Clemente Church (weird place ot take a quiz I know) and were handed our quizzes!  I am in shock! I knew every single answer! Granted it was only a 10 question quiz but I always manage to mess those things up somehow! So now I am eating my amazing left over stir fry, doing a little homework, going to two classes and then leaving to go see Cirque Du Soleil! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!    Look out Rome cause Courtney is going to be doing cartwheels and other gymnastics all over the city for the next week or so after she sees this show!!
