These photos were done for the second critique of my photography class. Not sure if we needed a theme for that particular critique, but to keep things nice and neat here, I call the series:
(Don't bring out the lighters all at once, now.)
*Sorry to a tiny fraction of people who've already seen these.
End of the day.
When I took the class, I had little fantasies about working as a photographer, and what would be my biggest accomplishment if I ever did become a photojournalist. And of course, it would have to be joining the mother of all agencies:
Magnum Whenever I pick up a book of theirs, it takes me forever to turn a page as my eyes are fixated on a moment the photographer has captured. Then I have lingering thoughts about what was going on when the pic was taken...what the photographer felt...what the mood was like between him and the subject...and what happened after the picture was taken. The subject moves on with his life, of course. But I believe it's in those moments, I see something honest of this person, this stranger...something that perhaps only his family and friends know.
A photographer I'm currently fond of. (turn on your speakers)

From one of my fav people in this crazy little lj world,
alawelshie 1) Total volume of music files on my computer?
iTunes: 14.19 GB (2812 songs)
Daaaaaang, so there's where all my gigz went. And we're excluding movies, shows, music vids, and shitloads of clips.
2) The last CD I bought was...
It's a shame to say it...but Interpol's "Antics". No shame in the music...just the date since I last purchased.
3) The last song I listened to before writing this was...
Aimee Mann's "Stupid Thing" (acoustic) Last time I saw her live...she talked about how she liked boxing so much...wow, didn't know she would take it to the next level.
4) Five songs I listen to a lot or/and that mean a lot to me...
I'll go with "I listen to a lot recently" here.
- "6th Ave Heartache" - The Wallflowers (daaaamn, how I love this song then...and still do)
- "Dry Your Eyes" - The Streets (I cannot stop listening to this song once I hit play. Songs like this don't normally work for me, but the way the song is constructed is done really well. Besides, I think the way he executed the lyrics in his Brit slang accent is so adorable.)
- "The State We're In" - The Chemical Brothers (Simply gorgeous.)
- "Mr. PC goes to DC" - Supaclean (This one is freakin' brilliant. It's infused with jazz, blues, and hiphop. Good stuff.)
- "Space Oddity" - David Bowie (I'm so addicted to the momentum of this song. The video is also great.)
5) Which five people are you passing this baton to, and why?
