gonna track this shit around

Damn, I can't believe my last entry was July 3rd. And that didn't really count since it was bs.

So school will start soon...and the thought is sickening. Back to the many sleepless nights. Well, the pattern is kinda the same now...but the key difference is that I'm staying up for shit I want to do rather than shit (bad meaning intended this time) being forced upon me.

I guess the one thing I regret I didn't do this summer was going to Curiosa. Then again, regret is a strong word. I mean, the only band I truly cared about was Interpol. I don't think I liked the Cure or the Rapture enough to be standing there and wait till Interpol comes out. Although it doesn't really matter since Antics will be coming out in Sept, and I know they'll be touring again after that. So whatever. That reminds me, my biggest fuckin' peeve of the summer: all the emerging bands with their names starting with a fucking "THE". The worst part is, some of them are actually worth listening to a year from now...and it just pains me to see them being original like that.

Saw Maria Full of Grace tonight, which was good in the portrayal of the story...but the more exciting part is that I saw the trailer for Life Aquatic!! I swear that I stomp my feet like a 6-year-old when I saw Bill on screen as the opening shot (and yes, people around me got a good giggle out of it). I've been waiting to see this film for aaaages...and it's coming out in Dec. Well, at least I saw the trailer, and got an idea of what Wes' next masterpiece will be like. So it's all good. But back on track, Maria Full of Grace is worth watching for everyone.

Oh yeah, the Olympics. Um, haven't been watching it as much as I thought I would. So don't really have much thoughts on it. Only new thought is don't have Olympic-crush on Ian Thorpe anymore since I do think he looks like a greyhound dog here. Yes, I'm shallow. Tell me something I don't know.

The Republican convention will be taking place in my hometown a week from now. No one here knows why yet, but for now, I'll let Julian take over for me.
