I've been searching for a job. I didn't actually lose a job but the nature of contracts means that, in a couple of weeks, my services will have been rendered and I'll be free to go.

My work is software testing. It's the best career bet I can come up with so far since I finally finished college early last year. It's still daunting; finding what companies want and becoming what they want while not losing track of what I want out of the whole thing.

I've always been mistrustful of work for that reason. As my friend Trevor says, "It's never worth it, not even for a short time." Avoiding work (without independent wealth) is usually a lot harder than work, I've also learned. So, my solution (currently under test) has been to try to gain enough education and skills to be able to come at work on even terms.

In the meantime, check my eBay auctions.
