Talking a magical ward not a district of a city. Snake chuckled. Basically it's a magical block. It can be put up against a number of things. Most often people put it up to prevent magic. Say for example you had a rival that used fire magic. Might think it a good idea to put up a ward against fire magic on your house.

Murphy looked down at her ring, "This must be a ward of some kind since it kept me from getting burned."

Usually a ward is something bigger. Though could be depending on the magic used. Could be a protection spell too. Snake shrugged.

I've got an amulet too that I carry... two really.

"It's something protective, that's all I know for sure." She looked him over, "What are you carrying?"

Definitely must be. Snake pulled out a worn old leather pouch and set it on the table.

This lessens the effects of my Post Traumatic especially when I'm sleeping.

Snake pulled out a long thin dagger with about a five inch balde that growled when he set it out on the table. It had the look of having fire or blood on the blade. It bites, literally so be careful if you handle it.

Damned thing was forged in my blood and it's pretty damned mean.

"I'll just save my fingers and not touch it." She said, looking over the blade. "What's the point of a mean blade?"

Probably better off. Snake shrugged. Actually the companion of my wife's sword. One thing is no one can use this on me. It'll turn on them. Don't know how it works exactly but it would find a way to stab the aggressor instead of me.

Snake ran his fingers over the blade and it vibrated. It also responds to contact somehow. Friend forged them for me. Was supposed to only have a drop of blood. Something with what I am and the shit he used ended up making it a lot more.

"I've done some sword work in my Akido training." She said, curious about the sword, but she wasn't going to reach for it. "I've only used practice ones before. Never had one of my own."

My wife uses a broadsword I think. Snake smiled. I carry a sword too. If you ever see me pull it you know hell's about to break loose.

"I'll keep that in mind. Sword equals hell breaking loose."

Yeah. Means one of two things. Either Apollyon has taken over or he and I are so furious that I can't resist the pull to use the sword I carry. Either way is bad.

Snake smiled tucking his things back where they belong. I could show it to you sometime if you want. This isn't the place for it.

She sighed, "This is going to take a lot of getting used to."

"Magic." She waved a hand around, "Everything that comes along with it."

Yeah. It'll come fast though. Snake shrugged. You should come play with my daughter sometime. That makes learning what it can do fun.

"Harry showed me a sprite." She smiled a little at the memory. "Things have been different between us now, with all of this. Harder but better."
