75 mph + tire blowout + (rollover x 3) =

Ringo and I were heading back from Boise when one of my rear tires blew out. I lost control of the car and ended up in the dirt median, where we proceeded to roll over about three times. We came to a stop upside down. Thankfully, we were alive and (mostly) uninjured-- just scrapes, bumps, bruises and a lot of overall pain. It could have been worse. A *lot* worse.

The people in Lovelock (the nearest town) were really nice. The folks at the hospital were sweet as can be. The cop gave us a ride to our (complimentary, bless them) motel room, and appropriately made fun of us when we tried to open the door to get out of the backseat of the squad car and (of course) couldn't.

Now, I'm still dealing with the aftermath-- a lack of car, a lingering fear of driving on the freeway, and maybe a little smidgen of PTSD. But my friends and family have been wonderfully supportive (and Ringo has been a 10, as always). :)

So, shit happens. Yeah, it sucks I don't have a car right now. But-- as cheesy as it sounds-- I have a deeper appreciation for everything I do have. I know it sounds incredibly trite, and you don't have to believe me. I just came so close to losing everything.

Overall, I feel incredibly fortunate. Go buy stock in Volvo.
