Single Awareness Day
So I like totally forgot yesterday was Valentine's day! No big surprise considering I'm unattached and all but to completely forget about buying cards or emailing cards to my sister and friends *is ashamed*. To be honest I've had alot on my mind lately and the last couple of days have been very me-intensive days (due to various personal nerve wracking issues) but I still feel like a selfish hag. I did in the wee hours of this morning email some valentine wishes to my sister who is far away in San Diego and I bought my brother breakfast this morning when I picked him up on the way to get his car Betsy looked at (the transmission is falling apart, poor Betsy is sick). That counts for something right?
Sighs, anyway Single Awareness Day as my brother likes to call it was dull and boring except my loving parent did surprise me completely by coming home late at 7pm with red tulips my favorite flowers, candy, a card and a offer of my choice of restaurants for dinner. I was touched and a bit flabbergasted by all this, I have the best parents you know. I quickly dressed up and we went out to a local Mexican restaurant because everywhere else the wait would be horrendous without a reservation. We all 3 celebrated by having strawberry margaritas and had a good meal. So, I hope everyone else had a good Valentine's or at least a tolerable Single Awareness Day. *grins*
