book love!
i don't know how hard times by charles dickens has turned out to be such a fucking good book. i mean, sure dickens is classic, but this goes beyond english class good. it's funny, but still kind of deep, but not "i know i should be appreciating this but shut up shut up shut up" deep. it's also dark, but again includes the sincerest portrayal of love i've ever encountered. i honestly almost cried! and i would have if i hadn't died inside years ago. plus, it's like i'm feeling exactly what i should be feeling for every single one of the characters. even though they are exaggerrated to a corny extent, it's an ok corny, because they are named things like stephen blackpool, and are so quirky that it's somehow convincing... point and case, i'm practically in love. but i'm only a little more than halfway through, so i hope it doesn't ruin itself!
