Kira has always had a lot of thoughts about how things ought to be. It's the main reason she became a singer/songwritter. Not because she had any problem expression her opinions in the traditional way; actually, it was kind of the opposite of that. But people actually listened to her when she put those thoughts to music, which never seemed to happen when she attempted to lecture and cajole them into doing what was right.
But still all of her pre-fame experience never prepared her for what would happen once she hit the big time. Because now when she sings about something, people act on it. In a big way. Which is why she is here, standing in the Oslo City Hall, trying to figure out how on earth it was possible that she, Kira Park, was receiving a Nobel Peace Prize. After all, she was a singer. And a secret former Power Ranger, but she was fairly confident that none of the members of the Nobel Committee knew that. So, yeah. Pretty mind blowing.
And all because of her song: A Voice Yet to be Heard. Which, yes, talked about injustice in the world and augured for an end to violence and war, but was still, for all intents and purposes, just a song.
Kira smiles weakly as she received her diploma. She bends her neck and shivers as the medal is draped over it. Then she raises her head and half whispers, "I don't deserve this," to the whiskered man standing across from her.
"No one ever thinks they do," he answers with a kindly twinkle in his eye.
