I went to Tampere last week for work, and we saw some nice things in the area! The best bits were the dinner in the tower and the trip to the lakeside cottage which had a sauna :D

I'm sure I'd get saunas if I were there, but at this point, it just sounds weird subjecting yourself to really far-too-bloody-hot then a little bit too cold.

I don't think I'd be brave enough. I'd see the steam coming off the water, put my big toe in, then wimp out.

yeah, it doesn't appeal at all to me either :-) More of an onsen girl. But good on you for fully embracing the experience!!!

It was really quite similar to the onsen though, except that the onsen supports you more ;D

There's no steam coming off water though! It's dry, except for you and a little bucket of water that's just used to sprinkle on the coals for a bit of excitement :) You're the one who's wet!
