goodbye car, hello car
I traded in my old '96 Avalon yesterday. It was my first car, and I'm sorry to see it go. I've had tons of memories in that car, and it done me good, yo. It was due for smogging, and I've never been able to get the check engine light to stay OFF for more than 3 months, and the brakes were starting to whirr in a very worrying way whenever I got off the freeway. She was a good car, but it was time to send her off into the good night.
In her stead, I got a 2009 VW Rabbit. It's so cute, and hey, it has an actually bunny rabbit for the car model thing on the back of the car. It's a true compact car (I always felt guilty parking the Avalon in compact spaces even though it fit) and the base model so it hasn't got any fancy frills this time around (no leather/heated seats, sunroof/moonroof, fancy alloy wheels, zip zilch nada mucho, etc.)... but she sure is fun to drive.
