The X-Files series finale on the 19th will supposedly explain everything in a "this is what happened and this is what it means" kind of way. To fully enjoy the finale, E. Weekly suggests going to the official site and reviewing "Two Fathers" and "One Son" from season 6, "Sein Und Zeit" and "Closure" from season 7, watching the 1998 movie again, and familiarizing yourself with recent theories about exogenesis for good measure.
(I'm a lapsed X-phile. I lost interest when Mulder disappeared. I'll definitely watch this one though, if only to confirm my suspicions that they won't be able to tie all the loose ends together. I'll be more than happy to be wrong about this however... more than happy.)
