Dean Fanart “It’s just Dean”
”really, it’s just Dean being Dean, nothing to worry” is the phrase Sammy uses often to explain his big brother’s quirkiness to other people. And why would he find it strange? His whole life Dean has been like that
So, about the image:
Dean sometimes gets in a strange mood. It could either be depression, or distimia, or being in a ‘downhill day’ of his manic behavior or bipolarism or something similar; not even he knows, after all, John denies his son is sick with anything, and Sam just thinks it’s normal.
Is it possible to fill one’s own prompt?
Well, I’m doing it, so from now it is. :P
See, the thing is that I was not meant to do it, but it went like this: I made a prompt for hoodie_time’s latest challenge, and rbmi_fan replied saying:
I actually really like the idea of Dean having some relatively mild mood disorder that's gone untreated for years because a) Dean is Fine, thank you very much, he doesn't need help, b) John refuses to recognize it for what it is, c) Sam spends so much time with Dean that he actually can't see it (it's just normal), and d) Dean does not know anyone else well enough for them to bring it up. Then things go south somehow and they're forced to.
And I was,
Cause really, ‘Sam not doing a thing because he thinks it’s normal’ is just so, so sad.

I wanted to make a difference between both of them; Sam in the part of the room that is bright and warm and Dean guarded beside the closet. Sam is sprawled all over his bed, which is unmade; Dean’s bed is perfect, but he’s fretting and more or less crouching.
I also wanted to make a difference between them and the rest of the world, as a way to explain why Sam would not think twice about his brother’s issues: even if it is a good summer day, perfect for going outside, Sam is blissfully immersed in his books (John argues it’s safer than being in the open anyway), while Dean immersed in his own mind.
I guess I was just too inspired, so for me drawing in less than a week is kinda big. But I’m not posting this on deviantart for now, so whoever sees this pic can you please tell me what you think of the drawing in general? Idea, plot, space, color? *big puppy eyes*
