The day after the last day
Today is the first day of un-employment. It's kind of surreal. I already got a couple messages from people that want to talk to me offline about my thoughts on my previous employer. The thoughts are easy, I was there for 22 years, 20 of which when they really cared about their people. They don't any more, or at least not like they did. It's not the kind of place that people that worked there so long ago, can continue to work at, the difference in change will drag you down. Newer people will be fine and I am sure Hewitt will be fine, but it's not for me anymore. True, I would not have left on my own, I would have stayed and mutttled through for 5-10 years. I am sorta glad they did what they did, though I am a little scared of the future...you never know what it will or won't bring you.
Lucky for me, as far as EQ2 goes, it brought me someone that I enjoy playing with again.
