Today has been a day of surprises.
Firstly, I opened the dining room curtains before leaving for work to find a huge bunch of dark pink, dark purple and white cat-friendly blooms from
mr_williams_law.He did sneaky sneakings-in of them last night while I was doing battle with the grout in the bathroom. Having been running about like headless poultry all week due to the aformentioned Parental Visit (dun dun duuuunnnn) this made me most smiley :)
Then, when I got to work, the only other laydee in the office presented me with a very solid, very heavy and beautifully made "Beware of the Witch" plaque for my house. It may sound a tad offensive, but just after I moved to this office, she discovered that my name is an anagram for "brazen eager hellish witchcraft" *raises left eyebrow*. Apt. So this tickled her when she saw it, and it's still tickling me now whenever I catch sight of it. It turns out that she actually had to go to some lengths to get it, which adds to the sweetness of the thought - it shall be ceremoniously mounted this afternoon :)
Then one of our contractors came in, and off the back of a brief conversation we had about swing earlier in the week (the music, not the wife-swapping), he's brought me a CD of Joe Jackson's Jumping Jive which he thought might get my toe parts tapping.
All this and it's not even 9 o'clock!
